Healing

At St. Edward’s we have introduced a monthly service of healing and wholeness that takes place on the first Tuesday of the month, commencing at 7.00pm.

This is an informal service consisting of prayer, a short talk on healing and the opportunity of the laying on of hands for anyone who wishes to receive it.

The emphasis of the service is ‘healing and wholeness’ – wholeness for our broken world and for ourselves. Whilst people often have physical illnesses and problems there are also many emotional and spiritual needs which affect lives and relationships. The Christian goal is wholeness – a life fully at peace with God, with each other and with ourselves. Jesus came to show us this life and in his death on the cross made it available to us. We come to Jesus by faith with an open heart and open mind and let him minister to us in the way he chooses.

As Christians we are on a journey to wholeness and oneness with God, and we are not there yet. We can each receive from God what he knows we need to help us along the way. As we acknowledge our need to God he is able to meet with us in the laying on of hands through the ministry of those who pray in his name.

The healing service is open to all who would like to come.
