St Paul’s Church Children’s Group

At St. Paul ’s Church we have St. Paul ’s Kid’s Club which takes place during our Family Service at 11.00 a.m. every Sunday. We begin our service all together but during the early part of the service our children aged 7 and under leave for their own special activities. Towards the end of the service we all come back together in church and share with everyone what we have been doing.

We learn more about Jesus together through play, prayer, drama, stories and crafts. Our aim is to make the children feel valued members of our church and to nurture them in the Christian faith through engaging activities which are appropriate to their age.

To speak to someone about St. Paul ’s Kid’s Club telephone Tina Mycock in the Church Office between 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. any weekday morning on 01538 373306.

St Luke’s Church Children’s Groups

Seedlings Fun, Faith and Friendship – We meet every Thursday morning in term time from 10.00 to 11.30 am in St Luke’s Church Centre. We welcome pre-school children and their carers – Mums, Dads, Nans, childminders etc.

The group starts with a play session and sometimes there will be a craft activity linked to our theme, which you can help your child with if you wish. After this we clear away the toys and the children sit down for juice, fruit and toast.

At the end of the morning we join together for a circle time. This is when we use a variety of games, action songs and simple stories to share Christian beliefs.

Children’s Activities on Sunday mornings.

Children are welcome to use and explore the Children’s area on the left hand side of church which is stocked with simple crafts, drawing materials, a selection of books and a variety of story sacks themed on various bible stories.

Usually on the 2nd Sunday of each month at the 9.30am service, to coincide with baptisms, there are activities laid on led by our children’s leaders. After the first hymn children aged 3-9 years are invited to join them in the Sunday Club room, where there is teaching and activities explaining baptism, along with crafts. The children are returned to the service to see the baptism take place and then, if they so wish, can continue to finish their crafts upstairs.

Crèche – A crèche room is provided at St. Edward’s at the 9.30am service each Sunday. This is situated at the back of the church in the Parlour. The Parlour is a sound-proof room that has the service piped through for listening to as younger children play with a box of toys suitable for their age. Baby changing facilities are also provided through the Parlour.
