The annual festival, popularly known as ‘walking round day’ has been held for over 200 years currently involving over a thousand people. It starts with worship songs in the Market Place, led by Moorlands Praise and as the Sunday Schools, Churches and walk in procession to assemble, the excitement grows. There is a short service of worship, led by one of the churches is turn and then the procession around the town starts. Having returned to the Market Place, the Sunday Schools and groups return to their church (or another venue) for refreshments
